The National Skills Academy for Retail is a brand-new organisation which is responsible for creating a consistent approach to retail training across the country, through a network of retail skills shops.

A retail skills shop is a local centre for retail training. Some retail skills shops have been open for more than 10 years while others are just getting started. You can simply walk-in to a retail skills shop to access a wealth of support and advice, or your employer can contact a retail skills shops to access the right training for you. There are also a number of virtual retail skills shops accessible online. Retail skills shops are based mainly in shopping centres and on high streets across the country. Skillsmart Retail was given approval to set up the National Skills Academy for Retail, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Skillsmart Retail. The National Skills Academy fo Retail is constituted as a not-for-profit organisation limited by guarantee and the two organisations are closely aligned to meet the skills needs of retailers and their employees. Skillsmart Retail acts as a strategic influence on the skills systems on behalf of retailers across the UK. The National Skills Academy for Retail delivers skills solutions for retailers across the UK through its retail skills shop network.
